Each month Jason will be providing us with a piece of healing art and an affirmation which is imbued with beautiful healing energy. You can simply enjoy the art for what it is, or meditate on it in order to support your spiritual quest.
About Jason
Jason Paul Claire always knew that he was an intuitive, but it was the devastating effects of work-place bullying that finally threw him into the deep depression that ironically awakened his latent talent and gift for intuitive art. This is the brief story of that journey and how Jason uses the medium of art to support people with their own healing.Growing up in the suburbs of the West Midlands, Jason had an ordinary childhood, moving through the educational system to university and then on to a lecturing post at a local college. In this role, he experienced work-place bullying, which eventually caused a massive mental breakdown. Using art as a healing tool, he began a long, slow recovery, during which time he discovered that his art not only allowed his fractured and damaged mind to heal, but had the same profound effect on others too. It was a life-changing period during which he received the calling from the Universe that he was to combine his talents as an artist and an intuitive to bring healing art to life and help others.
'On my journey', says Jason, 'I have discovered that art is the most wonderful tool to support greater health and wellbeing. I have been drawing, painting and illustrating since a very young age; in fact it is my first memory. I have been involved with many private projects; my most recent has seen me provide all the illustrations for my book - "The Serenity Code: a personal journey to wellness" - co-written with my wife, Louise'.
Jason's art comes directly from his heart and soul, creating paintings and drawings that speak to the hearts and souls of others, enabling them to develop and heal on deep levels.
Jason's art is available as prints, bookmarks and greetings cards. He is also available for commissioned work and has a number of exhibitions and gallery openings taking place over the next few months. Please do keep in touch with all the latest news via the web site details below.

February 2012 artwork
Title: 'Return of the Son'

Dear friends,
For the past eighteen months, I have posted my new healing artwork on the wonderful Health & Happiness website. I do hope that you have enjoyed some of my paintings and drawings, and found them beneficial; perhaps facilitating deep shifts within your life. Sarah, the wonderful Editor of this fantastic magazine, has now asked me to write about my art, speaking about the inspiration for the work that I produce, so each month I will be accompanying each piece of art with a commentary. I do hope that you enjoy my forthcoming artwork and find my commentaries insightful.
This Month's Art Commentary:
My art for January is entitled 'Return of the Son'
Hello and welcome to the latest installment on my journey; my voyage of personal discovery. As the New Year dawns, I feel like I am now sitting at base camp not knowing where the path of twists and turns will take me.
As I write this column, it is 10.54 p.m. I am sitting in the dark with the small light of the laptop illuminating the keys upon which I tap. The ‘Divine Feminine’ that is Louise is asleep by my side, unconscious and beautifully sailing the sea in the land of dreams; invisible to this world leaving only her masculine counterpart awake in this realm. The Solstice and Christmas are becoming distant memories. With the passing of the Solstice the sun returns to cast his light upon the land; the emergence of the longer days already becoming apparent. The small amount of light from the screen of the laptop illuminating the keys reminiscent of the handful of photons we gain on a daily basis at this time of year. How apt for this month’s column.

From working through the session it became clear to me that a lot is said about the ‘Divine Goddess’ and its return to the world. This made me think about how culturally, as males, we have shifted to embrace the ‘Goddess energy’. I remember the shift happening, the talk of the male becoming ‘New Man’ and escaping ‘Old Man’. A more sensitive, caring and gentle persona was adopted by men in general. I remember the cultural fallout of the emasculation of the male happening and I wondered whether this has now become the norm for males, the emasculation being passed in genetic memory from one generation to the next. I then wondered whether this would explain why a lot of 40 somethings, and younger, are now feeling, more than ever, lost in the world; without a purpose and socio role models. I asked myself has MAN lost his identity, adopting some role that was never meant to be? I then wondered where that archetypal energy went as males ‘ditched it’, and wondered whether to gain balance in the universe it simply transferred to women, giving the rise of the ‘ladette’ culture?
Now don’t get me wrong – I, more than anyone, would not want to return to 70’s man; especially to the open shirt, and bad aftershave, with chest beating and other stereotypical connotations that HE embodied (amongst other things the trousers are too tight and flares do nothing for my hips). However, the more that the planet shifts toward the ‘Divine Goddess’ energy, I find myself asking “where is the balance”? The Yin to the Yang? The light to the dark? After all, we do live in a dualistic paradigm.
Coupled to the shift of ‘New Man’, a lot of males now grow up in one parent, maternal, feminine units – never knowing or seeing their fathers, absent of a strong male or male role model, except maybe at school. Maybe this is why a lot of young men emulate rappers and submerge themselves in gang cultures? These implications are the dual edge sword of the ‘Divine Feminine’ shift. Yes, a softening of humanity is seen – this is greatly needed, especially at this time and especially as this could be the saviour from war and annihilation. But also it is creating an imbalance which is leaving many men directionless and ill prepared for success in life. As with all things it is the balance that nature craves. I have realised during my session with Richard that MAN needs to embrace the ‘Sacred Masculine’ and heal the paternal family lines; only then can balance be restored. As I understand from the work that Richard does and the systemic approach (and I am by no means an expert) the paternal line for men carries success in all aspects – as does the maternal line does for women. If a male does not know the males in his family tree – as I do not – work needs to be done to help heal this line of his family.
This made me think about the artwork for this month. I wanted to present a work called ‘Return of the Son’. I wanted to capture the rising of the ‘Divine Male’, like the phoenix from the ashes – this seems fitting, especially after the Solstice and the metaphorical return of the Sun/Son. I am now trying to embrace my ‘Divine Masculine’ and I know that the work with Richard has helped to heal anger, hurt, sadness and a feeling of being lost that I have never quite been able to get to the bottom of.
I don’t have a system or a magic answer , I have only one thought to present to you. I give this with love and freely. If we live in a dualistic paradigm, then as we embrace the ‘Sacred Feminine’ so we must, to ensure balance, also embrace the ‘Sacred Masculine’. This is my offering to you this month.
If you like my art and would like to comment, I always welcome any feedback. If you see another interpretation in my drawings I would be delighted to hear from you. You can contact me onart@discoverserenity.co.uk
